Works Description: The contract was for the refurbishment and alteration to the 1937 Worsley Swimming Pool and 1970’s Sports Centre to create a modern public swimming, fitness and leisure facility to rival the very best in the private sector.

We worked in close collaboration with the client and designers to complete a Big Lottery Bid and value engineer the project to meet the client’s budget. The works included construction of a new learner pool, reinstatement of roof level glazing to maximize natural light, installation of a glazed entrance leading to reception and glazed viewing wall to the main pool, new communal changing areas, re-roofing of the building and the removal of asbestos.

Structural works to the 1970’s extension ensured the new dry side facilities, gymnasium and dance studio are modern and airy. New mechanical and electrical installations reduce the carbon footprint of the complex with new high efficiency and low emission gas-fired boilers providing thermostatically controlled heating and hot water systems.
