Cruden's Escalate in the Community Programme creates benefits in Cruden's home town.
Cruden Escalate in the Community volunteers completed a makeover at the Oaks Centre in Penketh Warrington.
Community Ambassador Barry Curran liaised with the community centre management team, about how best we could deliver an event that would enhance the facilities and appeal of this very busy 'Community Hub' as part of our commitment to adding value into the communities in which we work.
Cruden Construction is currently completing a £4.8m, design and build contract for 54 sheltered housing apartments nearby on Farnworth Road, Widnes Road and Station Road in Penketh.
Karen Howard, the Centre Manager, requested new doors for the front entrance which would allow all users to access the Centre safely and independently. The existing doors were wooden, unmaintained and very rotten. Karen pointed out that the 50:50 split opening made it difficult for many Centre users who needed help and assistance with getting through them in mobility aids.
Within the Centre, there was a distinct need for one of their rooms to be redecorated and refurbished, as it was looking tired. Karen thought that as the room was used by a number of community groups, including the disability learning group, if Cruden volunteers could brighten the room up that would be wonderful.
Our picture shows the Cruden Escalate team consisting of management and volunteers from our local project team on site, head office, and from our supply chain who successfully delivered on each element outlined above.
Karen has kindly commented on our response to the Centre's requests saying:
"We tell everyone about Cruden's generosity and they are blown away".
As a Warrington building contractor Cruden is particularly pleased to be able to deliver benefits of this nature in its home town. Sustainability and customer satisfaction is at the heart of our approach and this latest Escalate in the Community project delivers on both fronts.
