Cruden Construction supports the Fusion Centre, Tonge, Bolton

Cruden Construction has been undertaking design and construction of forty three new homes at Union Road, Bolton for Great Places Housing Group under a £4.2m contract, and as part of our winning bid we committed to providing a programme of local support activities designed and managed by our Escalate in the Community team.

One activity involved a Cruden team giving of their time and skills to a painting makeover at the local Fusion Community Centre and we are delighted that this has been successful.

The Fusion Centre provides facilities for local people and groups with opportunities to improve learning and develop skills, and it is also used for social functions and events. Paula Rowson, Community Officer for Bolton at Home, liaised with our Community Ambassador Barry Curran, to identify the centre as a worthwhile project for us to deliver under the Escalate in the Community programme initiated through the Union Road contract.

Sharon Matthews, writing on behalf of the Fusion Management team said: “I just want to say on behalf of everyone at Fusion, a thank you to all the lads, who did a great job. The rooms look lovely, we are especially grateful that you did the entrance area, due to the height.”

Our photo shows Cruden’s Barry Curran with Nathan, Cruden Construction Site Manager; Graham from subcontractor, Broken Colour and Jack, one of our work experience placements who used this opportunity to expand his practical experience.

Several of the new homes at Union Road have been handed over to Great Places Housing Group and the remaining properties are due for completion in October 2016.
