Cruden complete 126 new Retirement / Extra Care Apartments

Cruden Construction has recently handed over a further two Retirement Living / Extra Care developments to new clients Housing Plus and Wrekin Housing Trust.

Constructed in the heart of Penkridge Village, Staffordshire on a brownfield site, River View is a £6.25m, 4222m2 development of 41 one and two bedroom retirement living apartments for Housing Plus Group. This architecturally striking development meets strict design criteria including Lifetime Homes, Secured by Design and LABC standards, incorporating sustainable energy technologies. In addition to the apartments, River View provides its residents with an orangery, residents lounge, buggy store, activity room and catering kitchen, landscaped gardens and on-site parking.

The Coppice, Bicton, Shrewsbury, Shropshire is a £9.2m development of 85 one and two bedroom extra care apartments for Wrekin Housing Trust. Built in a rural location on a site that presented several challenges, including being devoid of any services infrastructure, power, water, gas and mains drainage, the completed development offers its residents a range of other facilities. These include a restaurant and cafe, residents lounge, hairdressing salon, shop kiosk, games room, laundry, pamper and assisted bathrooms as well as landscaped gardens and on-site parking.  

With the completion of these two retirement living / extra care developments, Cruden Construction has further expanded its considerable experience of these types of buildings.
