A team of volunteers from our site at Grey Street, Burnley, accompanied our Community Ambassador, Barry Curran to complete a decorating project at the Blackburn Foodbank.
The Foodbank provides a range of support services including food parcels and meals to those in need in Blackburn and is an incredibly important service.
Our team were delighted to give of their time and skills to assist the Foodbank complete a decoration of the ‘wet facilities’ within the building, namely shower areas and toilets, which Foodbank volunteers had been trying to complete amidst all the other important activities and tasks that they undertake.
Ros Duerdon, Foodbank Manager, commented: “The provision of the shower and toilets will help local people who have no washing and showering facilities because they can’t afford to heat water; it will also help and be available to rough sleepers.
The Cruden Team brought together the start made by our volunteers, and the final result is wonderful, we could not be happier.”
Cruden Construction is presently constructing fifty new homes for Great Places Housing Group in Burnley and this is the first of two projects that we are undertaking as a way of giving something back to local communities and developing added social value services that supports Great Places Housing in the area.
