4TH Belong Village Handed Over

Cruden Construction has achieved successful hand over of the new Belong Morris Feinmann Community Care Village in West Didsbury, a week earlier than the contract stipulated.

A joint-venture between Belong and the Morris Feinmann Homes Trust, the Care Village comprises 74 en-suite rooms for 24 hour nursing and dementia care, 13 independent living apartments and a village centre, open to the public, which will provide a vibrant hub for community events. With facilities including a synagogue, function rooms, kosher bistro, hair salon, exercise studio, therapy room, library and gardens; including a roof garden.

Designed by Pozzoni Architects, the £7.9 million construction scheme - Cruden’s fourth for Belong - is intended to become one of the leading care centres for older Jewish people in the UK. Within the new buildings are six household kitchens, as well as the Bistro kitchen, which are all fully certified by the Sephardi Kashrut Authority.

We are delighted to have been selected to construct this inspirational building and we look forward to taking the lessons learned from this and other Belong Villages on to the next projects so that we can deliver even better care facilities for Belong and the UK’s growing elderly population.
